Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) affect over one billion individuals globally, putting a disproportionate burden on the poorest sections of society.
In 2012 the WHO produced a roadmap for implementation, which clarified the next steps in tackling these diseases of poverty, aiming to eliminate or eradicate several NTDs.
