Health for all has been the central vision of the WHO since its constitution came into effect on April 7th 1948.
On the 70th anniversary, marked by World Health Day, the WHO are calling on leaders to commit to steps towards universal health care. This aims to ensure that all individuals and communities across the globe can receive the health services they need without suffering financial hardship.
Currently many individuals miss out on vital health coverage, as seen in our mini-infographic below; however, many countries are already progressing, strengthening their health systems and outcomes. This World Health Day the WHO is calling for robust steps towards universal healthcare with actions on a policy and an individual level.
