An easily measured gene has been linked to high mortality rate in patients with Pseudomonasaeruginosa bloodstream infections, and could be used as a prognostic biomarker and potential treatment target in these individuals, according to research presented at the 28th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID; 21–24 April, Madrid, Spain).
