Vector-borne disease: an increasing problem for the United States

A report has shown that infection rates of diseases transmitted via the bite of an infected mosquito, tick or flea have tripled in the United States since the year 2004.

The data published in a recent Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC; GA, USA) demonstrated that cases of vector-borne diseases have tripled in the United States from 27,388 in 2004 to 96,075 in 2016.
