Do viruses play a role in Alzheimer’s disease?

A new study, analyzing a large set of data from post-mortem brain samples of individuals with and without Alzheimer’s disease, has demonstrated the potential role of viruses in Alzheimer’s disease biology.

The study was funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA; MD, USA), part of the National Institutes of Health, and was published in a recent issue of the journal Neuron.
