Early Career Panellist: Eloise Ballard


PhD Student, MRC Centre for Medical Mycology, University of Aberdeen, UK

Eloise is a final year PhD student at the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology at the University of Aberdeen. Her research focuses on the human fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus and how it adapts to the human lung environment during infection. Her research aims to improve understanding of this adaptation process, with the hope of informing treatment regimens and subsequently improving patient outcomes.

Before beginning her PhD she completed a BSc in Biochemistry at the University of St Andrews (UK). Outside of the lab, Eloise enjoys science blogging (www.themicrobediaries.com/) and baking. Eloise can be contacted on Twitter (@eballard123).
