Could antimicrobial photodynamic therapy be used to treat MRSA infected wounds?

Researchers from Purdue University (IN, USA) have reported that antimicrobial photodynamic therapy could be an alternative for treating MRSA infected wounds.

Photodynamic therapy involves a compound, known as a photosensitizer, which can be activated by visible light to kill diseased cell or bacteria – an approach that has previously been used against cancer.
