Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and sepsis are inherently interconnected issues; growing resistance could make treatment of sepsis cases challenging or even impossible, and moreover, there is a lot of crossover in the countermeasures necessary to tackle both issues, for example, rapid molecular assays and precision susceptibility testing [1].
However, earlier this year a conversation on Twitter [2] sparked an interesting question – are campaigns for antibiotic stewardship competing against sepsis awareness campaigns with regards to their messages on antibiotic use?
