ASM Microbe: Study highlights cell phones as tools for Staphylococcus aureus transmission


A team of scientists, supervised by Lizziane Kretli Winkelstroter Eller (Western University of São Paulo, Brazil), has announced results from a study investigating the presence of Staphylococcus aureus in university students’ cell phones.  

Considered an important pathogen due to its level of antibiotic resistance, S. aureus is a common cause of both hospital and community-based infections
