Bifidobacteria found to inhibit SARS-CoV-2


Researchers have discovered certain bacteria that reside in the human intestine secrete compounds that inhibit SARS-CoV-2.  

Research from Yonsei University (Seoul, South Korea), presented at the World Microbe Forum 2021 (20–24 June), has revealed commensal bacteria in the human intestine produce compounds that can inhibit SARS-CoV-2.
